Chargé d'Affaires of the Mission of China to the African Union Zhang Wei Meets the Executive Director of CDRC

On August 19, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Zhang Wei met with Executive Director Abdeta Dribssa Beyene of the Ethiopian think tank Center for Dialogue, Research and Cooperation (CDRC).

Mr. Beyene briefed on his recent participation in the International Seminar on Counter-Terrorism 2026 held in Xinjiang, and commends the seminar for providing an important platform for countries to exchange counter-terrorism experiences. Through the visits and exchanges, he witnessed China’s counter-terrorism and de-radicalization outcomes, and was deeply impressed by China’s economic and social development accomplishments. He said that the CDRC is willing to promote closer exchanges and dialogue between Africa and China in the field of peace and security, and contribute to the development of the Africa-China strategic partnership.

Mr. Zhang stressed that counter-terrorism is a common task facing all countries. China attaches great importance to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with Africa in the field of peace and security, and hopes that the CDRC, as a well-known African think tank, will continue to play its role as a bridge to deepen China-Africa academic exchanges and contribute to the building of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.
